We offer motivated students the opportunity to engage in challenging research questions in the field of cybersecurity as part of their thesis work and to deepen their technical expertise.
Our research group investigates a broad range of topics at the intersection of computer networking, information security and artificial intelligence. Current research focuses on routing security and internet measurements aimed at strengthening the stability and trustworthiness of the global Internet. Further areas of interest include fuzzing techniques for automated vulnerability detection and the application of generative AI in cybersecurity. In addition, we address contemporary challenges in web security, public key infrastructure, and privacy.
Students interested in one of these topics are invited to contact us directly for further information. We also welcome original topic proposals, provided they are closely related to our current research areas.
For an overview of our past work see our group's page https://www.sit.fraunhofer.de/en/cad/
The goal of our thesis projects is to contribute to the advancement of scientific research. We support our students in disseminating their results, depending on scope and quality, as a poster, short paper, or full paper presented at a conference or published in an academic journal.
